Today I would like to share a very beautiful feature of MS Windows 7/Higher that is Parental controls. #windowsTips. If as an administrator you want to set some time and programs restrictions on standard user accounts in Microsoft windows 7 or higher, you may use this valuable feature.
Official wording about how and why use parent controls in MS Windows from Microsoft.com is “You can use Parental Controls to help manage how your children use the computer. For example, you can set limits on the hours that your children can use the computer, the games they can play, and the programs they can run”.
How to create a Standard User Accounts in Microsoft windows 7
For implementation of parent control you must have or create a standard account.
- open control panel
- click Add or Remove new Users
- click create a new account
- type new account name in text-box
- select Standard Users radio button
- click on Create Account button
a new standard account is ready
How to set parental Controls

Open Control Panel, and then, under User Accounts and Family Safety, clicking Set up parental controls for any user.

Select a Standard user from the list

Under Parental Controls, click On, enforce current settings.

Now you can adjust the one of the following individual settings

Time limits. in this you can restrict the time to log on to the computer. Children will not be able to log on in the specified hours. different logon hours for every day of the week can be set.

Games. You can set and control access to games.

Allow or block specific programs. You can restrict programs as well
