Research Hypothesis Examples | How to write Hypothesis

Research Hypothesis Writing

In writing research report for any domain, research hypothesis is a critical for any researcher. In one of Facebook Group, most of the research scholars were asking about how to write hypothesis statement in research report. Most of them were demanding research hypothesis examples. I decided to help those students and writing this article in which I will try to list following questions about writing hypothesis: You may use YouTube videos digital technology to learn about hypothesis.

  • How to write hypothesis statement?
  • Testable hypothesis examples
  • Writing hypothesis for dissertations
  • what is a theory of hypothesis
  • What is hypothesis formation
  • What is hypothesis vs prediction
  • what is an example of a hypothesis
  • What are null hypothesis in research

Steps in formulation of hypothesis

  • Ask a Question in your research.
  • Do thorough background Research about the question.
  • Change the research question into hypothesis. Construct a Hypothesis.
  • Test Your Hypothesis by Doing an Experiment.
  • Analyze Your Data and Draw a Conclusion.
  • Communicate Your Results.

Hypothesis process

This process was adopted by me when I was conducting my M.PHIL Education research. My honorable supervisor told me to state questions of my research from my abstract. What are you trying to find in this particular research? Then my supervisor asked me to change these question into research hypothesis. Here is the example of my abstract , and set research questions and the research hypothesis.

How to write Hypothesis from Research Abstract Example | Setting objective

The most comprehensive aspect of mathematics is the versatile application of mathematics in different phases of life and industry. The connection between mathematics and the lives of students provide them a better position to communicate mathematical concepts to others. The objectives of the study were

a) to explore the connection between high school mathematics curriculum and lives of high school students

b) to find out the perception of the teachers about the connection between high school mathematics curriculum and lives of high school students

c) to identify the students understanding level about the connection between high school mathematics curriculum and lives of high school students and

d) to give recommendations for the improvement of learning process of mathematics.

The population of the study  comprised all the students studying at secondary level and their mathematics teachers in Public and private sector in Pakistan. The sample of six hundred and forty respondents (480 students and 160 teachers) were selected through convenient sampling technique. Two questionnaires (one for teachers and one for students) were the instruments to collect the data from the respondents.

How to write Hypothesis from Research Abstract Example | formulating research questions from objectives

In this step we will formulate the research questions for the objectives identifies in abstract to work on them. in above example we have identified 4 objectives, now lets see how research questions will be formulated for these.

Research Questions of the Study

The following will be questions of the study

  1. What is connection between high school mathematics curriculum and lives of high school students?
  2. What are perceptions of teacher and students about the connection between high school mathematics curriculum and lives of high school students?
  3. What are the level of understandings about connection between high school mathematics curriculum and lives of high school students?

Finally construct hypothesis for research

in this last step we will see how above stated questions are constructed to write hypothesis for above stated abstract.

Hypothesis of the Study

The following will be hypothesis of the study

  • There is no significant difference between the high school mathematics curriculum and lives of high school students.
